The ‘European Billie Holiday’, one of the NL’s most exceptional tap dancers and the wellknown arab pop singer HIND together with the power of the KKBB! Yes, you read right. Edison winner, Lils Mackintosh’s soulful sound and style have earned her the title: 'The European Billie Holiday'. She featured in the original Dutch cast of rock-opera, 'Hair' and fronted 80’s New Wave band, ‘Shark'. Konrad’s arrangements and repertoire choice will showcase her multitude of styles. Lils is joined by fellow Edison winner Hind. This young singer has broad musical tastes and a mastery of her craft which includes writing music exploring pop, fado and her own Arabian roots. Tap dancer, Peter Kuit returns with his explosive energy which matches the KKBB dynamite sound. This promises to be a spectacular Monday night – so good, you’ll kick yourself if you miss it.

Steady gig of the Konrad Koselleck Big Band in the Sugarfactory
Since october 2005 every 2nd monday of the month the Konrad Koselleck Big Band performs in the Nighttheatre "Sugarfactory", Lijnbaansgracht 238, near Leidseplein in Amsterdam. On other mondays you can listen to bands like the "New Cool Collective".
In 2007 these singers promised to (re)join the KKBB at Sugarfactory:

Commissioned by the Tuba solist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Perry Hoogendijk, it was a lot of fun to write this piece for the most virtuoso player of this low brassintrument, I met on earth.

This amazing voice you can her in formations such diverse as "Food for Funk" and "Jazzed to the max". Dance music fans know her as the lead singer of several productions of Vincent de Moor and Ferry Corsten. She worked with Karin Bloemen, Michelle David and" The Golden Earring". The tap dancer Marieke van der Venjust confirmed to join also this concert. One half of the well known tap duet Tafel9 will be back on stage with the KKBB this february for a spectacular performance in a multidimensional way: visual by dancing and aural by using her feet as percussion. And this coordinated interactive in the dimension of time. (The second half of Tafel9 will be our guest in march)

Known as the soulful singer of Bernie's Lounge, the lovely Mapi Quintana is influenced by Asturian traditional music and jazz. She’ll infuse the KKBB with just the right amount of warmth that is needed in these cold and windy January days. With Mapi fronting the Konrad Koselleck Big Band, tonight will see jazz, latin suffused with funk and folklore. This unlikely mixture of styles is just what we’ve come to expect from the KKBB – highlighted by Konrad’s sweeping arrangements and all executed with the band’s boundless energy.

The Dutch Musical star and Jazz singer Gerrie van der Klei heard the KKBB on the Birthday Special in March 2006 and said immediately, that she would love to join the band for a concert. To be asked by a singer, who also sang in 1974 together with the Duke Ellington Big Band and the Boy Edgar Big Band at the Carnegie Hall? There is just one possible answer! So here we are: For this show Gerrie and Konrad took some tunes from the great American songbook, from Broadway and combined them with some songs from good old Europe. Arranged in the fresh and twinkling eye manner of KK, performed by a great voice that knows how to entertain and accompanied by an even enthusiast as professional orchestra, this together guarantees a sparkling night of Big Band music. Also Gerrie invited some Special guests: the singer and entertainer Erik Brey (“Purper”), the singer Frédérique Sluyterman van Loo (“Cabaret”) and the musical talent from the “Cats” cast Pierre Alexander. Another typical but unexpectable Monday with the Konrad Koselleck Big Band comes up.
Mon. may. 8th 2006, 21.00hrs Konrad Koselleck Big Band featuring the famous soprano Claron McFadden
In the recent Rammstein shows they used a sample of a recording of "Was hast du mit meinem Herz getan?" sung by the American soprano Claron McFadden. Ellen ten Damme covered Rammstein’s “Amerika” in an arranged and accompanied by Konrad Koselleck and his great Big Band. So it’ll be interesting to see what happens when classical Claron meets the KKBB tonight on the cusp of serious and light music in the Sugar Factory. Take a big band, a big name and a big voice and it’s sure to be a big night. American soprano, Claron Mc Fadden is one of the most interesting singers on the classical music scene. As well as singing oratorios from Bach, Händel and staring in the great Operas at all the big temples of the classical music she also worked with the Jazz flautist Chris Hinze. Claron McFadden is as well known for her interpretation of contemporary music as for her swing when she sings Carmina Burana. That’s plenty of reasons to invite Claron for a concert with the Konrad Koselleck Big Band. Konrad has arranged some new tunes especially for this night guaranteeing an unpredictable and musically rewarding concert.

The man and his music. Throughout his impressive career, Frank Sinatra personified the finest swinging Big Band music ever performed. This month, the Konrad Koselleck Big Band brings Friso Kuperus to the stage: a crooner who feels comfortably at home on Sinatra’s musical high street in almost the same way that "Old Blue Eyes" felt at ease in his swinging Las Vegas hide out, “The Sands Hotel”. Mirroring Sinatra, who was also a talented and succesful businessman, Kuperus entertains & passionately sings the legendary repertoire and combines it with an entrepreneurial career! Backed by this professional, highly motivated orchestra, you’re in for a dynamite evening. Tonight, the Konrad Koselleck Big Band will play original arrangement along with greats like Nelson Riddle and Billy May. A beefed-up stereophonic blast of feel-good music all delivered with KK’s inimitable humour and musical precision.

Bigband swing + Nederpop – they don’t seem to fit, do they? But somehow, they miraculously gel when the Konrad Koselleck Big Band and Dutch singer, writer, composer and trumpet player Jeroen Zijlstra are executing the compositions. Jeroen describes his style as an exiting encounter between pop, poetry and jazz. Add that to Koselleck’s adventurous, rich arrangements plus the full driving force of 20 musicians and you’ve got a mix that would have Beethoven, Cole Porter and Miles Davis all tapping their toes in delight. The Konrad Koselleck Bigband features the American singer Léah Kline with traditional jazz and sidesteps to popular songs that everyone will know or be able to sing along with. You will enjoy Léah Kline as an accomplished stage performer having performed in virtually every field of entertainment. Equally at ease before an audience of 2,000 as with one of 30, she has entertained audiences in Europe, Asia, and the US. As a singer, Léah is noted for her personal delivery and phrasing of songs paying great respect to the meaning of the lyrics. Particularly well received for her vivacious stage presence and clear melodic tones, her phrasing and interpretation has earned favorable attention from fans with various tastes of music.
